More than just the minimum standards

We recognise that our activities have an effect on the local, regional, and global environment. We are committed to continuous improvements in environmental performance, sustainability and the prevention of pollution. Environmental regulations, laws, and codes of practise will be regarded as being the minimum standards of environmental performance.

We support organisations that promote sustainability. To this end we are members of the Global Action Plan an Alliance CO2.

Watching out for your neighbourhood

We are in partnership with the London Neighbourhood Watch Association (LNWA) whose aim is to make communities a safer, better place to live and work. We promote issues of security and safety and create practical solutions. LNWA work closely with the Metropolitan Police and Home Office and in London alone, a fifth of all properties are members of a local Neighbourhood Watch scheme, which reflects a high level of community spirit and support from property owners towards building a better community.

Working with social enterprises

We encourage staff to become involved in local community activities, and provide time off for this purpose. One such project is Kids’ Company, a charity set up in 1996 to provide practical, emotional, and educational support to vulnerable inner-city young people. The program mentors a group of young people to become entrepreneurs who each month undertake to set up and run their own business. They have to double their money, month by month for one year, starting with £100. At the end of twelve months, all the profits accumulated are distributed to the individuals to start up their own business. Each young person learns a new skill with each event. The plan is to roll out the programme nationally in the future.
